Moving people, improving the world
ECOLOGY + PSYCHOLOGY + COMMUNICATION SCIENCES + OVER 30 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE + walk4future® = Your Partner for Selected Impact Campaigns
For over 30 years, I have worked in branding for brands, people, and ideas.
My motto is impact – no matter what area of my offerings. And that means my goal isn't just likes and clicks and quickly consumable, well-attended events and campaigns, but people who do something differently after our point of encounter.
From awareness to action
With walk4future® I have built a project that shows how movement, community, and visibility translate into impact. The following cooperation formats are possible:
- Long-term positioning
- 6-12 months
- Connection with the entire movement
- measurable activation
- several weeks/months
- Kilometers and consumer decisions are recorded.
- personal encounter
- single event or series
- Immediate, emotional brand experience
- Individual campaign
- project-related
- customized action
Questions that customers like to ask me
How do you tell if a brand campaign actually changes behavior?
A behavioral change becomes apparent when people demonstrably act differently than before: for example, skipping a purchase, using clothing longer, or walking more often. Reach, likes, and positive feedback show attention and resonance. Additional data is needed to make a statement about changed behavior.
This is why impact measurement begins even before the campaign:
- Set target behavior: What specifically should people do differently?
- Capture starting point: How have they behaved so far?
- Document actions: What changes are actually recorded during the campaign period?
- Check consistency: What remains after a few weeks or months?
At walk4future® Let us make visible the kilometers walked together and the amounts of money that participants have saved through conscious consumption decisions or used for better clothing. This information provides insight into participation and reported decisions. It is not an automatic proof of saved CO₂ emissions.
The cause of a change must also be assessed carefully. Those who already consume more consciously may be more likely to participate in such a challenge. Control groups or staggered campaign launches can help to estimate the campaign's additional contribution.
For me, a brand's credibility therefore also includes stating precisely what was measured, which information is based on self-reporting, and what conclusions the data actually allow.
How does a campaign that generates attention become a campaign that moves people to action?
A campaign can change behavior when it connects a relevant issue with a concrete, feasible action. People must understand what the topic has to do with their lives, what step they themselves can take, and what this step contributes to.
Therefore, in my work with impact campaigns, four questions are central:
- Personal relevance: Which need, wish, or everyday experience does the campaign address?
- Course of action: What can people do specifically, and how easy is it to get started?
- Community How can encounters and shared experiences support participation?
- Self-efficacy: How does one's own contribution become visible and tangible?
At walk4future®, we combine more conscious consumer decisions with exercise and community challenges. For example, mindful clothing purchases create financial leeway, while kilometers walked together make participation visible. In this way, an abstract cause finds a place in everyday life.
My principle for impact campaigns is: The desired change must be given meaning in people's lives, a concrete next step, and an opportunity for repetition. Only documented implementation shows whether this offering actually results in changed behavior.
What role must a brand itself assume for an impact campaign to be credible?
A credible impact campaign requires a comprehensible connection between the social cause, the brand's actions, and its concrete contribution. The brand must be able to explain why it is getting involved, what it is changing or making possible itself, and how it measures its contribution.
For me, this includes four commitments:
- Fit The request has a recognizable connection to the company's products, competencies, or impacts.
- Sweat equity The brand contributes concrete resources – such as money, knowledge, infrastructure, or access to people.
- Consequence: The campaign message is supported by verifiable corporate practices. Existing contradictions are identified and addressed.
- Transparency: Goals, contributions, and results are communicated in such a way that it remains recognizable what has been achieved and what is still open.
When it comes to partnerships around walk4future®, it is therefore crucial for me what contribution a company can make to more conscious consumption decisions, shared experiences, and concrete courses of action.
A brand doesn't have to claim it has already solved all problems. It has to be willing to be measured by its statements. Credibility is built where a brand supports the change it invites others to make through its own actions.
These companies and institutions are already among my partners for meaningful impact
